Walking

Inverness is divided by the River Ness, which flows through the city.

Walk down to the river. Look downstream and you will see a series of bridges crossing the river. The bridge you want to find is the Friar's Bridge, the third bridge crossing the river before the harbour. (Friar's Bridge is a busy modern road bridge where the river widens nearing Inverness Harbour.)

If you are on the city centre side of the river cross over one of the bridges and walk down the river to Friar's bridge and continue under the bridge. (If you walk across Friar's Bridge itself there are steps which will take you down to the river bank).

Coming out from under the bridge turn left and walk down Abban Street. Cross over Lochalsh Road to the next junction. This junction is Telford Road. Look to your left and you will see the church which is a few yards from where you are standing.

A9 Carriageway Dingwall/Aviemore

Approaching Inverness on the A9 carriageway, either from the North (Dingwall), or South (Aviemore), you arrive at the Kessock Bridge.

On the Inverness side of the bridge, you encounter a roundabout. Take the first turning, if you have come from the South, or the third should you have crossed the Kessock Bridge. This turn-off takes you away from the A9 and through an industrial estate on a dual carriageway.

Follow this road continuing over three roundabouts until you cross the River Ness on Friar's Bridge. Crossing over the bridge you encounter traffic lights at a roundabout. On the roundabout take the last turn-off before going back onto the bridge.

Following the first set of traffic lights go into the right-hand lane and take the next turning to the right. You will find the church about 100 yards down on the left. There is a car park at the rear of the church.
